Counselling / Psychotherapy / EMDR

Hello, my name is Diana (She/Her). I am a Master of Social Work graduate student in the Faculty of Social Work at Wilfrid Laurier University. As an Intern Intake worker, my role is to support you as you take the first step in your healing journey. Through an initial intake assessment, together we will explore your goals and objectives for therapy, which therapeutic modality supports the attainment of your goals, and which of our EMDR KW Counselling therapists is the right fit for you.

I am committed to upholding the Canadian Association of Social Workers seven core values in all aspects of my role. My approach is rooted in my recognition that every individual is approaching therapy at different stages of life and under the context of varying traumas, identities, cultures, faiths, and more. With this understanding, I intend for intake sessions to be an empathetic, non-judgmental space where decisions regarding your healing journey are respected, heard, and informed.

My education additionally consists of a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in Psychology from the University of Guelph and a Child and Youth Care advanced diploma from George Brown College. I am fluent in both English and Spanish.
